Germany urges Iran to return to nuclear talks
Germany on Monday asked Iran to return rapidly to nuclear negotiations, after a break in talks following the presidential election in Iran.
“Time is running out with regard to the nuclear agreement with Iran,” Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said in a statement prior to his departure for New York to attend the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
“The invitation to Tehran to return to the negotiations on the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) cannot be extended indefinitely. The new government must now be quick to find its way back to the negotiating table,” he additional.
“We will also be holding talks on this issue in the coming days,” the FM continued.
