HUNDREDS marched by York city centre on Saturday to call for urgent action on climate change.
They were all ages from children to grandparents, they walked or rode mobility vehicles and came from both York and North Yorkshire, from a wide range of backgrounds, organisations and political affiliations.
The march stretched from the top of High Ousegate to Church Street along Parliament Street as it paused outside Barclay Bank.
Earlier, while activists and other speakers spoke to a rally outside the Minster, members of Extinction Rebellion had staged a “die-in” outside HSBC bank in Parliament Street.
The marchers had a variety of solutions, from using nuclear strength instead of fossil fuels in addition as solar and wind strength and proportional representation to reduce the strength of plutocrats.
The march was one of more than 200 across the country during the COP 26 talks in Glasgow.
